How about a "start here"?
Hi everyone
Since the makegamessa site is a forum and there is no single "entry point" as it were, what do you think about adding a "READ THIS FIRST" post pinned at the top, so that users new to the site can get a bit of an introduction. I know for me landing on the site, I wasn't quite sure where to start and had quite a few questions after the initial excitement of realising that there is such a site :)
The post should answer some of the most common questions people might have, some I can think of:
What is Make Games SA?
MGSA is...
...community nights... etc.
Does SA actually have a games industry?
Yes! There are over X game companies in SA, and they have published many successful titles such as ...
I want to make games, where do I start?
Have a look at our Getting Started guide...
I'm already making a game?!
Great! Post about it, and let people see it. Show it at a meetup and let people play it!
I'm sure there must be many more questions, so please reply with some. If this turns out to be a good idea, then hopefully someone will volunteer to actually write up the answers and create the post (nudge nudge, wink wink)?
