[Job] Community Manager at Free Lives

edited in Jobs
Free Lives is experiencing a high volume in community activity, and is expecting a higher volume in the future. In order to avoid a break-down in communication during the spikes we are looking to hire a community manager.

Duties:

A finger on the pulse of our community forums (Free Lives forums and Steam forums) including:
- Monitoring of trends, complaints and bugs.
- Responding to active threads and interacting with the community on behalf of the team.
- Liaising with management to assess best responses for trouble areas.
- Weekly summary of feedback to management.

Requirements:

A finger on the pulse of indie game development and a familiarity with gaming forums.
Solid communication skills.
Fast reading.
Punctuation and Grammar.
A sense of humour.

Bonus Requirements:

Strong writing skills.
Image editing skills (for presenting screen shots, presenting work in progress and/or producing animated gifs).
An insatiable firey passion for the game "Broforce".
A finger on the pulse wherever there is a pulse to be fingered.

We want to pay between R6,000 and R10,000 per month. It really depends on experience and whether the candidate works full time or part time.

The job is only available for those who can work on location in Cape Town (currently in Kenilworth suburb).

Is there a fuel allowance as well? What are the hours?
  • Man. I already do most of those things for Netrunner and I don't even get paid for it :) So very tempting :)

Free Lives generally works from about 9am until 10pm ... though not everyone is at work for all those hours (some of us are late risers and some of us are very late risers and one or two of us are regular-jack-off risers).

We have a lunch meeting at 1:30 which the candidate would be expected to attend. Though to soften the burden of this requirement the food is delicious.

A fuel allowance isn't out of the question. We'd prefer the candidate not to be spending hours commuting each day (because it's a standard of living drain) but we understand that commuting is expensive.

Shaz (of Free Lives management) is in Durban for the next couple days. We'll properly review/discuss the applications that we have received before the end of the week.
  • @BlackShipsFilltheSky You should have another PM from.me as well :)
