  • @Moonstormer, @Chris_Bischoff and @JohanNagel's talks all need to be confirmed :).
  • If any of the other talks fall through, I'm more than happy to pick up the slack with a talk on implementing audio in GMS.

  • Cant wait, will bring an early build of the iPad game I am working on.

  • Ill be there...talking about something awesome and amazing. :D
  • I will show off some prototype roguelike madness (before posting it to the forum) :P
  • @edge Would you like a focused feedback session? Games outside those slots won't be shown on the screen, but rather shown after the meetup is over :).

Seeing as no one is grabbing it - I'd like to grab a slot to show the changes we've made to Maltese Foursome over the last month.

  • Cool! I'd love to see improved Maltese Foursome!

And, not sure if we should be showing Dead Run again, it's final tweaking stages now. What do you think?

Nah, its pretty chilled, will most likely just get set up on the side and will bug people to try it before & after.

Venues have been confirmed, we have Auditorium 2 (back to normal), for people that struggle to remember this or find it, you can ask about it at the front desk and you will be directed to the correct place, our you can check on http://dpe-community.azurewebsites.net/ which will be kept up to date with the latest info.
  • Good! Our legion of attendees was a bit too overwhelming for the other room.
  • Yeah I know, we had booking issues unfortunately last month. Hopefully it is better this time round!
  • Okay so both talks and the Vietnam '65 demo have been confirmed :).

@Tusim yeah I think you should! I'll put you down for a demo!

@Bensonance Can I get a slot in the Focused Feedback?

*pokes* @LexAquillia who is in JHB for the community night and can do my spot!
  • I'll (hopefully) be there. I might bring an early version of Cannon Crush Saga ;) (working title)
  • @ProjectX, @SUGBOERIE, @HotClaw

Sorry guys, but you'll have to show this after the meetup, off screen. We've got to the point (happily) that we have too many games that people want to show and we don't want the meetup to drag on :).

So we'll restrict the focused feedback slots to 3 maximum.

We'll see how it goes tomorrow, though. If we finish early I'll see whether I can fit you in :).
  • @Bensonance No worries. Check you guys tomorrow.
  • If it helps we'll keep our show & tell quick, just introducing some new stuff, and that'll leave more time in the after slots :) Cool? :)
  • Looking forward to coming to the event tomorrow (newbie). Please add 2 people to the guest list :)
  • Oki doki, I will hang around to say hi to people and try stuff a bit beforehand, but due to traffic this morning I am on motorbike so I don't want to hang around too late :/ sorry
  • Hi guys, sorry to be a nuisance :P Does anyone have the iPad/iPhone to screen adaptor thing that I could borrow briefly tonight? The original one, not the new Thunderbolt thingamabob.
  • Oh and I made prototype Android:Netrunner inspired multiplayer spy card game, will bring it along and see if there's time for a test :)
  • Arggg, deadlines claiming my free time like its chocolate covered jelly babies dipped in caster sugar. Wont make tonight. :(
  • I'm coming tonight! Been a while! Looking forward to it! :D

  • Car troubles (and the logistical issues that involve those closest to me) have sadly prevented me from attending tonight... So sad. Would've loved to see some game jam things! I even have my own card/board game I'd love some feedback on... Next month, then!
  • Thanks for all your feedback on Cave Escape everybody! Really motivating!

  • Greeeeeat meetup, it was fantastic to see everyone, and Zoe's talk was super good, I gotta put a lot of that into action, starting with using presskit() which I keep saying we all should be doing. I really suggest that we do a mini presskit() comp where you must simply make a presskit, for yourself, or the game you're making, or whatever. It'll get everyone actually doing it!!

And I must say a big thank you to all the overwhelmingly positive response on Dead Run! It really means a lot to me! Thankyouthankyouthankyou! :D

  • Hi all, I must say it was an awesome community night. From the perspective of someone who has had very little (almost zero) exposure to game development communities, it was refreshing to see so much energy and enthusiasm. I saw some truly inspiring stuff and I am looking forward to the next one.

  • Was lots of fun guys (and girls). Loved seeing the prototypes!

  • ...and while I only very briefly touched on it, here is the template I used for the first Stasis Design Document:

  • Thanks @Chris_Bischoff, the document looks like a solid foundation for most game design documents.
