Hello, Vage Durban has a "Student Only" venue sadley but Ladyinblack is working hard to try and secure another. Maybe see if you can assist them in securing an "open to all" Durban location?

  • To the game enthusiasts/devs/designers in Durban, I've been trying unsuccessfully to get a few company's to be interested in hosting GGJ in Durban, unfortunately my last option, Derivco declined.
Does anyone in Durban who wants to participate has or know someone why may have a place with ample space for about say 10 of us to jam together for the GGJ weekend?
  • Do we have any news of whether or not Johannesburg Microsoft venue will be available? I see it's still not up on the site :(
  • The Johannesburg jam site is Vega.
  • Yep Vega is the Joburg one this year. They have a cool slide and we can braai :)
  • So I've corrected myself, I could possibly join. Out of interest - what's the average unity version people use these days? (new laptop, so just want to make sure I have whatever I need again)
  • @edg3 some people use whatever latest version that their long term project is on, some use the most current. There really isn't a thing as "average version" for Unity.
  • Whichever version, I tend to take the downloadable executable along with me to public jams so that anyone I work with can use the same version as I am without worrying about downloading it on internet that's being shared with like 20 other people.

  • Anyone know the Load Shedding schedule for Vega Jhb? Or do they have a generator?
  • So far we supposedly wont have shedding in JHB I've heard (perhaps only for tonight?), I don't know about the venue though.

Also, what time roughly should we meet there? I figure sometime from 5 to 6?
