[Event] Game Mixer with Goethe Institute

Excited to announce that IESA will be working wirh rhe Goethe Institute to bring you "Game Mixer"

Game Mixer aims to promote professional exchange between game developers from around the world. In 2015, the first Game Mixer Program took place in Jakarta and Bandung, Indonesia. The following year, the second iteration of the program took place in Sao Paulo, Brazil. In its third iteration, the Game Mixer program seeks to mix up the international game development scene even further by not only including game developers from Germany and the host country of South Africa, but by also inviting participants from broader Sub-Saharan Africa and the former host countries Indonesia and Brazil, too.

There are seven spaces for SA developers, find more details here: https://www.goethe.de/ins/za/en/m/kul/lgh/gam/cfa.html

    We are looking forward to this and hope to receive many applications!

    If you are interested and want to apply, you should:

    • be a professional developer from an African game company that has released at least one game;
    • be committed to participate full-time during the whole ten-day program; and
    • be able to communicate in English

    Note that deadline is 5 October.
    Thanked by 2Tuism dammit

    Hi there!
    Does this mean that applicants that haven't published a full title (I have just a mobile game published that is basically a vertical slice of a full game) won't be considered?

  • Is there opportunity for non-developers that are involved in game making (such as sound designers, artists, etc) to apply for the Game Mixer? Thanks!

    Hi Andrew, thanks for your question. The event is very much centered on game making, so unfortunately it's not possible for non-developers to apply. Hope this makes sense.

    *EDIT* Dear Andrew, we thought about this again and actually would like to encourage applications by applicants who are not necessarily game designers, but have at least some kind of experience or a strong interest in using sound, visuals or other creative elements in a gaming context. Hope this makes sense?
