Oh cool, I'm also in KZN (in Durban). Good to hear that there are other developers in the vicinity. How much time did you guys spend doing it (as in, just on weekends, during the week at nights, full-time)?
Anyway, am keen to try it out. I just purchased it, will start downloading it now.
@Dislekcia: Yes indeed. Perhaps I can think on something along these lines once things start to cool off :)
@ScurvyKane: Thanks!! Time spent.. Hmm. The first 18 months or so we'd spend a few hours everyday on it. The next 6 months we picked that pace up to full days, and then the last 6 months have been just about every day of the week, most of the day :P The last two months we crunched pretty hard.
When is KZN setting up a regular meetup like JHB and CT have?
I've been discussing it with a work colleague and friend, who shares similar interests. He met and befriended a guy from Lighthouse Game Studios (also from Durban), and we chatted about how we should try to get into contact with them and others in the area. I think for the most part its just that everybody was isolated and unaware of one another.
Mind asking how many votes you needed to get in on this one?
What i've actually found about greenlight is that while vote are important and being in the top 100 is probably needed to get greenlit, things like articles and hype around the game help out the most! :P Just speaking from experience with PB

And also, read a great review here:

Hopefully we'll have more news and reviews to come! Marketing/PR = a long and dirty road. :)
Looks great ^^
Holy shit!!! Gonna be a busy new year! :)
I think with this engine you will be able to make a few different great type of games...
RK had around 10k votes. 4x less than VCD had in 4 weeks :P
