CT GGJ 2020 - Looking for sponsors and tradition

Hey Cape Town!

GGJ is around the corner (31 Jan - 2 Feb) and the location site is up and ready for you to join the Cape Town location. There you will see all the needed location and jam details. I have also created a GGJ Cape Town Discord for all who wants to join if they have any questions and/or want to use for networking during the jam.

Inspired by Joburg, I would love for Cape Town to start a tradition of our own. They have a communal braai the afternoon so I have been toying with some ideas (and have reached out to a few members for some ideas). Ideas I have is a Saturday brunch picknick on the Vega rooftop with some snacks and drinks or afternoon sunset drinks and snacks for all to take a moment to socialise and fuel for the jam ahead and not just eating pizza (don't worry Ill try and get pizza :P ).

I would love for some sponsors who are willing to either pick up the tab of some items I have in mind OR members of the community to assist in donating some items (or cash) towards snacks for all the attendees to enjoy while they jam.

Here are some snacks I have in mind:
Friday
Pizza and drinks (no alcohol sorry) for theme launch
Drinks would be coke, coke zero and fruit juices
Saturday
Brunch with drinks. I have a buffet menu worked out that contains delicious bagels, bacon, scrabble eggs (including tofu scramble), cheese (dairy-free and dairy), fried mushrooms, fruit salad and juices. Drinks would be coke, coke zero and fruit juices.
I have worked out a budget of R1500 for the brunch that can cater for a group of 25 people. Would need numbers ahead of time to prep accordingly.

Or Saturday night drinks and snacks. Same Budget

Sunday
Post-game upload Pizza with drinks (Drinks would be coke, coke zero and fruit juices)
During jam
Coffee, tea and drinks

If you are anyone you know are willing to sponsor or contribute to the above list, please contact me. Would be greatly appreciated.

    As an aside to this, will there be an urn? I know you say coffee and tea but I have learnt the hard way that that doesn't necessarily mean an urn.

    I think Free Lives can pick up the tab for the brunch thing. Sounds like a rad social highlight for the jam. We're still in the process of opening up for the year, but I'd suggest sending me an email next week about it (evan at free lives dot net)

    Hey Watman! I have asked if Vega has an Urn we could use onsite, waiting on their feedback. I will ask around if someone has an Urn in their back pocket we could make use of :D If you know of someone with an Urn, that would be greatly helpful.
