- A FREE and open meetup for anyone interested in Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Mixed Reality, any kind of immersive technology.

- Third Tuesday of each month. 6:30pm

THIS MONTH:
- VENUE CHANGE!
We're going to Sandton to visit BSC, who has graciously offered us their offices to host us for the month. We've had so many cool people offer us their venues that we thought it would be fun to tour around a bit to visit different VR people.

Full address: Business Science Corporation, 1st Floor, North Wing, 90 Rivonia Road, Sandton 2196 (Webber Wentzel Building, opposite Sandton City)

HARDWARE ON-SITE:
HTC Vive, HTC Vive Pro, Samsung Odyssey, Google Daydream, Microsoft Hololens and a few ordinary VR Box/Google Cardboard viewers.
If you have some interesting hardware please post about them here, and bring them too if you're up for it :)

- BRING PROJECTS & PROTOTYPES!

You should bring red and blue tic-tacs, can't come though, maybe next month...

  • A reminder of the VR meetup tomorrow at BSC, also a reminder that it's by BSC in Sandton! :)
  • I might be able to bring an Oculus Go tomorrow. But no promises :)

  • Thanks for a good meetup last night! It was great to hang out with so many people chatting about all kinds of Rs :)

Thanks for all the cool demos too, and the promise of more next month too!
We had a Oculus Go, a Hololens, couple of Vives, a mining claw simulation, my Vive Focus all going there.

Thanks also to Darren and BSC for providing the great venue and catering snacks and drinks. Looks like it was a hit! :)

(I played Beat Saber [Escape] till my thighs were burning and I had to stop lol)

  • This is what I was talking about, Oculus working on a lens shifting thing. Apparently it is called varifocal lenses: https://www.roadtovr.com/oculus-half-dome-prototype-dont-expect-see-everything-product-anytime-soon/
