[Event] Serious About Games SHOWCASE

edited in Events
In November 2016, Serious About Games challenged digital content developers to create a game that would allow people in the Western Cape to reimagine how their communities work. Seventeen entries, four prototypes, and one winner later, the competition has shown that serious games have the potential to make serious impact.

On the 19th of April, we will be hosting a showcase event where you can play the competition prototypes and Vukuzenzele – the game that won the R1 000 000 grand prize! ReBlok – the team making Vukuzenzele – will share insights from their development process, and show off some of the innovative technology behind their game.

During the showcase event, we’ll also take some time to understand serious games audiences. Serious About Games will share the findings of our research into how and why young people in Khayelitsha play digital games, and we’ll hear from the AT Section residents who were involved in the testing and implementation of Vukuzenzele.

Join us for an evening of innovative serious games and cutting edge research!
