Workshop for Freelancers

So, I've been toying with the idea of running a workshop for freelancers (game dev, artists or otherwise). Basically it'll cover basic contracting and IP law. I'll also throw in a basic set of contracts for people to use (and as part of the workshop I'll explain how best to use them).

The basic idea is:
Get to know what your rights are as a freelancer
Common disputes and how good contracts can help avoid them (like getting paid)
Best way to structure your agreements
The basics of IP law (Copyright, Trademark and design)

I'd be able to run the workshops in Jozi and Cape Town. The workshop will likely be full day. Costs would be in R2000 mark (which will cover venue hire, the contracts and food)

Venue actually chows most of the costs. If people know of nice venues that don't cost an arm and a leg, let me know :)

@Tuism I believe they we get them for free, but it is for the evening community events only (I'm not sure they'd be happy letting use them for a whole day).

Well we did use it for 2 whole days for Global Game Jam, so... Wouldn't hurt to see if it's an option.

I'm in :D ... if the price can come down a little... I know it's probably worth more than 2k in the long run, but 2k is still 2k I'd have to get together :p

Cool, looks as though there is enough support. I'll start looking into venues and will come out with more fixed details in terms of venue, price and dates.
