When: Tuesday, the 8th of January, 2013. Starts at 18:30, ends at 21:00 (although socialising afterwards makes it as long as you want to make it :P)
Where: Microsoft offices, 3012, William Nicol, Bryanston.

There are some videos on the Vault that I've seen recently that I'd like to show, specifically one on the design that went into creating social interactions in Journey. :)
If there are any topics you're interested in, I can look for talks on them too. If the talk is <30 minutes (or, alternatively, is <1 hour, but ABSOLUTELY MINDBLOWINGLY AMAZING) then maybe we can watch that at a future meet.
I wonder how fast the internet is at MS, whether we could stream it from there, or if I somehow have to do some caching magic beforehand.

Can someone please confirm the event?
@Stray_Train: Couldn't find anything unfortunately; the only ones I found were on social interaction, on the music, and on production. And although there are articles discussing the visuals from an academic perspective, I didn't see anything about the tech.
If there's something in particular you're wondering about, I'm sure Luke could offer advice. While they did write their own engine, I suspect that they didn't do anything revolutionary tech-wise, so much as having an awesome art director and great artists working on the game. :)
I saw a really good video on the art design of Journey a while back, it wasn't technical at all, but it explained quite a lot of their choices as a whole for the game.
