Game Designer (Missions) Internship

We are looking for intern Game Designers (missions) to be responsible for significant contributions to game design, with particular focus on the design, implementation, and scripting of Missions and Gameplay experiences. The interns will work with the Game Producer Design to create compelling paper designs that fit within the required narrative structure. You will then implement these designs through the use of proprietary and 3rd party tools. Associate Designers are responsible for collaborating with the rest of the design team, artists, and engineers to ensure their levels are fun, interesting, and performant. The interns also works with QA throughout development to address critical feedback and make sure their levels play and perform as intended.

This internship position lasts 12 months and graduates receive a monthly salary of R5000.

Job Qualifications:
• Previous game design experience (including personal projects) required.
• Degree or diploma in related areas of study

Knowledge/Skills:
• Familiarity with a variety of editors and scripting languages required.
• Comprehensive knowledge of game design principles, the computer gaming industry and its products.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with programmers, artists, and other designers.
• Professional experience working with level design on a large-scale project.
• Effectively work under the pressure of competing demands and short time lines.

Other Requirements:
• Willing to commit to the team in terms of time & effort given.

  • Perhaps you should give a little more information on your company and your game project.

    Also, I would really question whether an internship should last a full 12 months. Someone with game design experience as well as a degree and scripting languages is probably going to qualify out of a internship position in a short period of time. You might find that 5k as a salary is not going to get you someone with the qualifications you're outlining here, but that's a personal guess.
